Russell Henley to win +3000, 5 +550, 10 +315, 20 +150
First in the field in shots gained on approach, fifth in strokes gained total. Preferred putting surface is Bermuda. Before MC at the Open, three straight top 20s. Well rested, from the Carolinas, great course fit – should contend.
Charl Schwartzel to win +4000, 5 +700, 10 +400, 20 +200
Three straight top 26 finishes, gained strokes off the tee last ten events, gained putting last three. Only has lost strokes on approach twice since Masters, likes putting on Bermuda. Playing great golf, if he can putt well – watch out.
Patton Kizzire to win +7000, 10 +550, 20 +270
Best Bermuda putter in the field. Certified birdie maker. 3 straight made cuts. If the putter gets hot, stay tuned.
Ryan Armour to win +8500, 10 +650, 20 +260
Why not? We’ve seen longshots win here often in the past. 3rd on tour in driving accuracy, four straight top 25’s at this course, positive strokes gained in all categories last 12 rounds combined.
Louis Oosthuizen over Hideki Matsuyama -115, +1.5 -150
Louis is as consistent as they come, including four top 3 finishes his past six tournaments. Great putter should be a good week for him after he played well last week minus his Sunday performance. Not quite sure why Hideki is playing here. Playoff in Tokyo for bronze two weeks ago and then playoff again last week. His approach game has been insane good, but worried about his ability to compete three straight weeks. Going to go with the better player, and more importantly better putter in Louis this week.
Chez Reavie over Joel Dahmen -115, -1.5 +120
Chez comes into this week with six straight weeks of strokes gained on approach, top 5 on tour in driving accuracy, and an in-form wedge game. Chez ranks 114 in the FedEx cup standings, so I look for him to try and go out and have a solid week and not take too many chances of getting in trouble. Putting is important this week and Joel Dahmen has lost strokes putting 10 of the last 13 events. Placed 7th last week at Barracuda, but traditionally does not play well back-to-back weeks. Dahmen is safely in the FedEx playoffs so look for Chez to try and score a top 20, while Dahmen can live with a MC.
