3M Recap

Cameron Tringale: The 54 hole leader absolutely imploded on Sunday with a triple bogey to fall from one back of the lead, to outside the Top 10.  He never recovered, settling for a T14, thankfully still cashing our Top 20 ticket.  Nonetheless, a disappointing week knowing our Top 10 ticket didn’t get to the window, but he cashed both matchups for me against Bubba and Keegan Bradley

Tony Finau: Finau never really threatened and had too many bogeys and exotics to contend at a birdie fest.  T28 is close but no cigar.

Emiliano Grillo: Sometimes you’re just wrong, and this is one of those times.  Never played remotely competent golf, and looked content to head to Tokyo two days early.

Hank Lebioda:  This one just hurts.  Lebioda withdrew after his round Friday, much to the mystery of fans and gamblers.  He had just eagled 18 to cut his deficit to just five strokes, and looked poised to make a run towards the top of the leaderboard on moving day.  Unfortunately, his father was in the ICU with COVID, and some things are much, much bigger than sports.  He was able to prevail through his fight against the virus, and I look forward to backing Hank again in the future.  This is always a risk when betting PGA, especially in the era of COVID, and while losing your largest liability of the week to a WD absolutely sucks, it is the price of doing business.

Patton Kizzire: Could almost copy and paste what I wrote about Tony Finau.  Too many big numbers, not enough small ones.  Was worth the play at the number.

Rodgers over Poston: We were all tied up going into Sunday and if you had told me Patrick Rodgers would shoot a 68, I would have taken it every single time.  Unfortunately, Poston shot a 66 and our ticket turned into a loser.  Rodgers just didn’t have it this week, and left far too many putts out there
