Brooks Koepka— Another ho hum Top 10 for Brooksy at a major highlighted by a round of 65 on Sunday to finish T6. Will just keep blindly taking at majors for the foreseeable future
Xander Schauffele— Just didn’t have it this week and still nearly snuck in the backdoor for a Top 20 finish on Sunday with a round of 65. Unfortunate to get a poor weather draw Thursday/Friday. Already looking forward to betting him at Augusta.
Viktor Hovland— The 23-year-old treaded water just long enough to bring his A-game on Sunday, shooting a bogey-free 66 to finish T12. Watch out for him in the future.
Louis Oosthuizen— Another major, another Top 5 for Louis. The 54-hole leader couldn’t convert on Sunday, but cashed every single one of our tickets for a +2.85 unit profit.
Patrick Reed— Uncharacteristic missed cut. Never threatened this week, and also a victim of the Thursday late afternoon draw.
Tyrell Hatton— I’ll admit when I’m wrong, just a flat out awful pick. Hatton will not be returning to the blog after his meltdown on 17 and 18 Friday to miss the cut. Others in his price range are and will be better options going forward.
Scottie Scheffler— Awesome week for the Texan, finishing T8. Now 6/6 at majors in his career, with six Top 20 finishes. Solid +2.1 unit pick.
Marc Leishman— Unfortunately busted this week and missed the cut on the number. Can’t win them all, especially at +365 odds.
Bryson DeChambeau (FADE)— Barely made the cut on the number, and was the obvious fade of the week. More drama this week after blaming his club manufacturer for his struggles. Will more than likely keep fading as he adjusts to a new caddy and continues to deal with self-inflicted media distractions.
Matchups: 4-1-1 record…only loss being Tyrell Hatton who lost to Bryson by virtue of missing the cut. Very lucky to get a push in the Sergio matchup as Webb bogeyed 18 to tie.
Total card: +4.25 units
